The Rouge turns one year

GIVEN the cutthroat environ surrounding nightclub life in Kampala, it would be an overwhelming tribute for a rookie to emerge on the scene and dazzle immensely.

GIVEN the cutthroat environ surrounding nightclub life in Kampala, it would be an overwhelming tribute for a rookie to emerge on the scene and dazzle immensely.
Aly Alibhai, proprietor of the Rouge nightclub has sprung up with joy and weathered the storms, but he had the last laugh when he celebrated the club’s first anniversary in a glamourous setting with flair and pomp. Right from the dashingly large and bright neon sign, it was clear they were out to appreciate their year-long clientele.
As if the new artwork garnished on the plush walls, enhanced interior décor and deluxe maroon sofas weren’t enough, the ambience and open-bar coupled beers, wines and spirits continuously flowing, was the icing on the cake.
The crowd comprised mainly of society’s notables like Bob Kabonero, Cedric Babu, Angela Katatumba, Nikil Damanico, Elvis Sekyanzi and several ZIPA models, whose sense of style was elaborated in the kinkiest of ways.
While some of them seemed to be dressed in pyjamas, others creatively knitted tit-bits of cloth into an outfit.
To embellish the event, a dance performance from the Obsessions and musical dos from Chameleone, Lyrical G, Mosh, Dorothy Bukirwa, Klear-Kut caused a frenzy until Navio’s collaboration with Peter Miles dubbed Ruckus took temperatures to another level.
