KABERAMAIDO resident district commissioner Tezira Jamwa has resigned to contest in next year’s parliamentary elections.

In an interview at The New Vision head office on Monday, Jamwa said she would vie for the West Budama County North seat, in Tororo district.

The constitution amendment (No.3) Act 2005 requires public servants interested in contesting in elections to resign 90 days before nomination date.

Jamwa was the area MP in the 6th Parliament but lost to labour state minister Henry Obbo in 2001.

“I want to go back to Parliament and continue the projects, including rural electrification which had stalled,” she said.
