JINJA Municipal Council has approved a list of names of people to act in the positions of the four senior officials who were recently interdicted.

JINJA Municipal Council has approved a list of names of people to act in the positions of the four senior officials who were recently interdicted.
The officials, interdicted over abuse of office on recommendations of IGG Faith Mwondha, are town clerk David Kigenyi Naluwayiro, deputy town clerk and urban tender board secretary, Jofram Waidhuba, assistant divisional town clerk Bagonza Birungi and municipal engineer Dathan Wamuzibira.Â
The officials were accused of causing a financial loss of sh392m to the Government in the construction of a sh900m central division office block. The IGG said work on the block was sub-standard.
A special council session on Tuesday approved the Walukuba-Masese divisional town clerk Peter Mawerere as acting municipal town clerk.
Edison Mpango comes in as assistant town clerk, Simon Kato goes to Walukuba-Masese as assistant town clerk, engineer Saidi Mohammed acts as municipal engineer while Mercy Kyangwa is the urban tender board secretary.
