TWO Kenyan teams and one from Rwanda will take part in what has become Uganda’s only international rugby tournament. The Hima 10-a-side tournament, which has been traditionally played at Makerere, will this time take place at the Kyadondo RFC grounds on Saturday and Sunday.
Nairobi University’s Mean Machine, a regular visitor to the tournament, will be joined by Nakuru and Rwanda in what will be the closing event of the 2005 rugby season.
Machine is grouped with last year’s winner Heathens in Group A, which also has last weekend’s Sevens round winners Celtel Pirates and KIU.
Rwanda is in Group B, together with hosts Hima Impis, Buffaloes, and Entebbe Mongers. LG Rhinos are in Group C with Boks, Rams, and new boys on the block Bruins from MUBS. Nakuru, which also hosts a 10s tournament every year, will battle it out in the preliminaries with seven-time League champions Mango Kobs, Impis II, and Sailors.
