Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye has paid a courtesy call to Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala at his Lubaga residence and unveiled his vision for Uganda if he takes over the presidency in the 2006 presidential elections.

During the one-hour Saturday morning closed meeting, Besigye also asked the cardinal to help him woo Catholics to back his presidential bid.

Sources at Lubaga said some FDC officials were barred from the meeting to allow the cardinal and Besigye discuss openly and at length. FDC vice-president Sam Njuba said Besigye and Wamala discussed ‘issues of national importance’.
