GODFREY Nuwagaba and John Bosco Bananuka were the two new faces at the Uganda Athletics Federation (UAF) elective assembly held at Lugogo Saturday.
The 30 minute assembly returned Dan Tamwesigire as president for a second four-year term, which will see him run athletics for the next four years.
Nuwagaba, the former treasurer during Suleman Habibu’s presidency, replaced Dominic Otuchet, who was elevated to the post of vice president. Former vice president Michael Asaku who did not seek re-election was returned as Eastern representative.
“I will work towards attracting more private sponsorship by being transparent. We will also continue with our talent identification programmes,” said Tamwesigire, a Mbarara district education officer, who was like all the other candidates, unopposed.
He was first voted into office two years ago.
Bananuka, a sports tutor at Makerere University replaced Gaston Kamugisha as assistant secretary in the polls presided over by former FIFA referee Charles Masembe.
