Gerald Sserunjogi dwarfed the Editorial defence, scoring twice as production lifted their maiden New Vision inter-departmental soccer trophy at MUBS ground on Saturday.

Sserunjogi scored from the spot at 20 minutes after Alex Balimwikungu had handled in the box. Balimwikungu made up for his mistake to level just after four minutes but Editorial found themselves trailing 3-1 after Sserunjogi and William Mwesigwa’s goals in the second half.

Second half substitute James Odomel, who replaced Paul Tentena went off limping with a swollen knee to increase Editorial’s woes. This forced striker Gerald Tenywa to man the defence, which move paid off with Chris Kiwawulo hitting the sixth goal of the tournament, to become top scorer.

But Editorial failed to tame deputy production manager Godwin Rwankwenge’s boys and instead looked on as they celebrated the win.

Accounts department finished in third place after beating defending champion Bukedde in the classification encounter of the four-team tournament.
