UGANDAN athletes will step up their build up to the World Cross Country due in Brussels in March, when they take part in several competitions in Europe today, writes Norman Katende.

Back at home, others will be taking part in the Kampala Road Relays due to start and end at Kawempe Muslim School ahead of the national event next month.

Dorcus Inzikuru, who left for Europe mid this week will be taking part in the Belfast International Cross Country championship in Ireland, her first competition ever since she wound up her season last year.

Inzikuru, who had just come back from high altitude training in Kenya, needs to perform better in this race, if she is to get invitations in other European races.

Another star Wilson Kipkemei, who finished fifth in his last race in Italy will also be taking part in the 48th Internazionale Compaccio in the same country as he also builds up for the world meet. The meet Boniface Kiprop is expected to participate in was still unknown.
