ONE of the field commanders of Joseph Kony’s Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) rebels, has written to his wife who surrendered to the Uganda People Defence Forces (UPDF) sometimes back, asking her about her new life.
The wife, Alice Adokorach, is currently being rehabilitated at the Gulu Support the Children Organisation (GUSCO).
Lt. Col. John Lagoga gave the undated letter to his two children Kenneth Odong, four, and Dennis Lagoga, eight, who had been living with him in the bush.
The brief letter written in Acholi states that, “I have written to inform you that I have sent those two kids you have been asking me for. I pray that God bless you all. Send my greeting to the moderator of the Mega FM Dwog cen Paco (Come back home) programme, Lacambel, who made me know how you reached home safely. I was worried you would be killed.”
Adokorach expressed happiness after receiving her children she had been longing for.
She requested her husband to return home to take care of their family. For the last four months, Adokarach, though the radio, has been begging her husband to send the children back.
