AN AIDS Information Centre (AIC) which opened in Busia in March, has tested 379 people, reports David Musengeri.

By May 25,128 people had tested positive while 251 were negative.

The centre served the five sub-counties of Lumino, Buhehe, Lunyo, Masaba and Masafu. The Unit laboratory assistant, Godfrey Barasa, told journalists in his laboratory that some people come from Bugiri district.

Barasa said the people who tested were aged between 35-50 years. He said those aged between 18-34 shunned the exercise yet it is the age feared to be more at risk of contracting HIV/AIDS.
