KAMPALA — Buganda Road Grade One Magistrate Francis Kaggwa yesterday sentenced a businessman to a year in jail for stealing a land title of his late uncle, John Ssentamu.

KAMPALA — Buganda Road Grade One Magistrate Francis Kaggwa yesterday sentenced a businessman to a year in jail for stealing a land title of his late uncle, John Ssentamu. Godfrey Mariranguha of Nabweru in Wakiso district stole the title in June 2002 and later purported to be its owner to procure registration of the plot at Kibwa in Wakiso.

Man charged

KAMPALA — A 77-year old man was yesterday charged with stealing a mobile phone valued at sh260,000. George Kasirye of Busujju in Mubende district allegedly stole Hamis Shamim’s phone on Kampala Road on March 29. He denied the charge before Buganda Road Court Grade One Magistrate Olive Kazaarwe.

KAMPALA — A Bank of Uganda messenger has been sentenced to 14 months in jail for stealing sh12m from a staff member. Buganda Road Court Grade One Magistrate Francis Kaggwa yesterday heard that John Ssendawula stole Justine Kasende’s money on March 7, 2001 when she sent him to deposit it on her account.

KAMPALA — Kampala International University deputy vice-chancellor Dr. Edmund Katiti has said all staff will undergo a course in computer science next academic year. He was yesterday conducting journalists on a tour of the university.
