1,000 freed

THE director of the Totto Chan Reception Centre for children, based in Sudan has said over 1,000 formerly abducted children have been repatriated since 1997.
Jim Long John was accompanying a group of 34 surrendered LRA rebels, who were flown from Totto Chan Centre to Gulu on Monday.

Spot fines

THE Police and the Uganda Revenue Authority have launched Spot Fines on motor vehicle users in Nebbi district. Assistant Police superintendent John Goville recently said the scheme was meant to improve road discipline.
