Cranes committee had offered sh7.2m for the 18 players and sh0.4m for the coaches for a win over the South Africans but withdrew after Uganda succumbed to the penalty defeat.

Poor results
UGANDAN swimmers failed to make it past the preliminaries at the 7th FINA World championships in Indianapolis, USA. Aya Nakitanda and her sister Nana Nakiddu failed to make it to the next round on Sunday. Nakitanda swam in the same heat with her sister in the 50-meter freestyle.

Kiprop run

Kiprop, the 10km junior world champion, double world junior X-country silver medallist and Olympian, will be part of high profile athletes at the event. “We invited him, he accepted,” events organiser Isabelle Gravenstein said.

THIRTEEN Universities have confirmed presence in the universities exclusive Coca Cola football cup October 18-21. The event’s coordinator Charles Masembe said Makerere, Nkumba, Bugema, MUBS, Ndejje, KIU, Kyambogo, MUST, Nkozi, Gulu, IUIU and Bishop Braham, Kabale had confirmed.
