UGANDA Human Rights Commission (UHRC) chairperson Margaret Ssekagya has called for the observance of peace and respect of human rights as the country transforms to multiparty politics.

“Let us protect and promote our national values for our children and the generations to come. A mature and well-organised transition must be a commitment to us all,” she said.

Ssekagya was addressing Kabarole district leaders at the Mucwa district headquarters on Thursday.

“It should be a wish for every Ugandan to have a peaceful transition. Let us take this political transition calmly and use our media. We must avoid sowing seeds of hatred and instead love one another and respect the Constitution,” she said.
