PEOPLE who do not have latrines at homes are to be arrested, Kasese district chairman Yokasi Bihande (left) has directed, reports John Thawite.

The order follows another cholera outbreak in the district, which killed two people and infected over 100.
Bihande was addressing mourners at the burial of Evans Kabugho at Kacungiro village in Munkunyu sub-county, Bukonzo west, on Saturday.

He challenged local leaders to mobilise communities against the disease, which he blamed on poor hygiene and backwardness.

The district director of health services, Dr. Peter Okui, said the epidemic had infected 104 people since November 3. Okui said the disease started from Nyakasanga and spread to Rukoki, Mahango, Muhokya and Kitswamba sub-counties and Hima town council.
