By Amlan Tumusiime THE state minister for defence, Ruth Nankabirwa, has accused her political opponents in Kiboga district of bribing witnesses to tarnish her name before the parliamentary probe committee investigating the causes of election violence in the country. Nankabirwa, who is also the Kiboga woman Member of parliament, told the New Vision on Monday that her opponents in Kiboga and Kampala were ‘pulling her down’ in order to have her removed from the parliament. She said she was ready to take legal action against Kulazikulabe, a resident of Kawempe in Kampala, who told the probe committee that he saw Nankabirwa beating a voter in Kiboga, during the presidential elections . “I have consulted the speaker of Parliament and he has informed me that parliament acts like court and whoever tells lies in court can be prosecuted so I will take Kulazikulabe to court,” she said. She named the former Kiboga Woman Member of Parliament, Rhoda Kalema and the district chairman, Siraje Nkugwa Kizito, among her political enemies.
