Makerere University has announced lower cut off entry points for science courses and raised those for the Bachelor of Arts in Arts and Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences, reports John Odyek.
Makerere University has announced lower cut off entry points for science courses and raised those for the Bachelor of Arts in Arts and Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences, reports John Odyek. The entry points are for the 2,795 government-sponsored students to be admitted for the 2002/2003 academic year.Sebastian Ngobi, the academic registrar, said there were new programmes and places under the government sponsorship scheme.The cut off points for the B.Sc. with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Geography is 33.3 points compared to 33.8 points for the previous academic year. The cut off for the B.Sc. with Mathematics, Economics, Geography or Physics is 35.2. That of the previous academic year was 38.1 points.The cut off points for B.A Arts in Social Sciences is 44.8 points, up from 44.4 points. The cut off points for B.A. in Arts is 44.2 up from 42.7 points for last academic year.The new courses include, Bachelor of International Business (28 places), B.SC in Computer Science (20 places), Bachelor of Human Resource Management (24 places).
