By Charles Ariko MULAGO hospital is in dire need of money to run its operations.Dr. Lawrence Kaggwa, the hospital director, said Uganda’s only referral hospital requires at least sh22b annually to buy basics like drugs to cater for about 1,800 patients who visit the hospital daily. He was on Friday addressing hospital workers during their end of year party held at the hospital. Kaggwa said in the last three months, the hospital faced a financial crisis when the finance ministry delayed to release funds.“Out of the sh3b we had asked for, we received a cheque of only sh1b. This money is not enough to cover the ideal minimum activities. There is need to address the issue of funding,” Kaggwa said.Deputy director Gideon Kikampikaho said the number of patients had increased.Ends
