Princess Ssangalyambogo Marks First Birthday
Hundreds of happy children aged three to six from Kampala schools on Thursday afternoon shared with Princess Sarah Katrina Ssangalyambogo the joy of her first birthday anniversary.
By Josephine MaserukaHundreds of happy children aged three to six from Kampala schools on Thursday afternoon shared with Princess Sarah Katrina Ssangalyambogo the joy of her first birthday anniversary.The colourful celebrations at the Kireka palace was attended by Kabaka Ronald Mutebi who posed for group photographs with the princesses, Nnabagereka Sylvia Nagginda, school children and their teachers.The Kabaka in the evening joined the jubilant children for the cutting of a dark brown and cream teddy bear birthday cake with the inscription of ‘Happy Birthday Princess Ssangalyambogo.’The cheerful princess walked round the huge palace courtyard decorated with light blue, pink, orange, yellow and white balloons.Ssangalyambogo's party had everything one can think of save speeches, traditional dances and the usual adult guests at royal functions.Children were entertained by white clowns, played at the bouncing castle, feasted on sodas, chicken, beef sausages, ice cream, painted their faces and received balloons of various shapes from the clowns.They also competed in western dances and the winners received prizes.The day was crowned by Ssangalyambogo cutting a teddy bear cake. She quickly grabbed a piece and smeared her mouth with the icing, attracting cheers from the children.The princess received several presents and offered 104 bags inscribed with her name to each of her invited pupils. Ends
