US Navy, UPDF To Launch Joint Exercise

THE US Air Force, Army and Navy and the UPDF will launch the Medflag 2002 exercise, the largest US military training event in Uganda in several years, next Monday.

By John KakandeTHE US Air Force, Army and Navy and the UPDF will launch the Medflag 2002 exercise, the largest US military training event in Uganda in several years, next Monday.The joint and combined medical readiness exercise will also be attended by participants from Rwanda, Kenya, South Africa, the UK, Morocco, France, and the Netherlands.The US embassy public affairs officer, Mary Jeffers, yesterday said Medflag will be launched on Monday 19 August at the Soroti Hospital and at seven field locations in Soroti district. The exercise ends on August 31.Medical and logistics specialists from the US Air Force, Army and Navy and a number of Ugandan military medical units will participate in Medflag 2002, along with participants from Rwanda, Kenya, South Africa, the UK, Morocco, France and the Netherlands, Jeffers said.Ends
