The Ministry of Water, Lands and Environment has asked Operation Wembley to assist in tracking down a non-governmental organisation which allegedly fled with over sh10m meant for sensitising the community on the Land Act.

State minister for lands Baguma Isoke said the NGO, which he declined to disclose, disappeared after receiving the money.“Col. Elly Kayanja is now following them. I hope they will be got so that they answer the charges,” Isoke said.He said this at the opening of a desk office for the FIDA/Uganda Land Alliance in Mbale at Masaba Cooperative Union building.He said the Government had delayed to implement the law due to its complexity.Present were the chairman of the Uganda Land Alliance, Warren Nyamugasira.
