PalLisa district authorities have called upon the presidential candidates to adhere to the Electoral Commission guidelines requiring them to inform the Police of their campaign programmes, 72 hours in advance.
The deputy Resident District Commissioner, Mr. Paul Odauk, said this would enable the Police make necessary security arrangements to avoid campaign violence.
Odauk said since presidential campaigns started, no incidents of violence, intimidation or obstruction, had been reported in the district.
He appealed to the presidential candidates, their campaign agents and supporters to follow the electoral laws and maintain peace throughout the election process.
Odauk was grateful to the public in Pallisa for welcoming the presidential candidates, in the district and giving them due audience.
He urged the people to co-operate with the security bodies.
