BY KALUNGI KABUYE The Rhino Rugby Football Club had a dream run to the finals of the Third Round of the Uganda National Sevens Circuit, but at the end could not sustain it and fell 0-46 to the MTN Heathens RFC, who also won their first championship this season. "I think the Rhinos had one game too many," Heathens' captain Tolbert Onyango said after the final game. "They surprised everybody by playing the way they did, but at the end they had no more to give. For us it was a victory long time coming, and of course it was nice to beat the Kobs in the semi-finals. But it is not over yet, they have beaten us twice this year, and the Circuit is still going on." Rhino captain of the day Paul Olok was happy at the way his boys had played, given the fact they had not really trained for the sevens. "I'm happy with the way we played, it was with all heart, and although we still have a long way to go, at the end of the day I'm happy with the performance." On their run to the final, Rhino topped Pool B, which had Makerere University's Impis, Nile and Saracens. They beat Buffaloes 38-12 in the quarters, and overcame Black Pirates 26-19 in the semi-finals. Heathens topped Group D, beat Boks (Kobs II) 38-0 in the quarters, and Underwriter Kobs 19-5 in the semis. Meanwhile Impis beat Rugaruga 36-0 to win the Plate Trophy, while newcomers Entebbe Mongers beat Mulago Rams 24-10 to lift the Bowl Trophy The Bell Lager Rugby League starts March 31. Ends
