Lira Launches Sh1.4b Feeder Roads Project

THE Lira LC5 chairman, James Obua Otoa, on Tuesday launched a sh1.4b feeder roads rehabilitation project covering Apac and lira districts.

By Patrick Oyee and Nelson Otto THE Lira LC5 chairman, James Obua Otoa, on Tuesday launched a sh1.4b feeder roads rehabilitation project covering Apac and lira districts. The launching took place in Ogur sub-county in Erute north, Lira district. The roads covering 108kms will pass through the sub-counties of Ogur, Apala, Aloi, Adwari and Amac in Lira, and Ayer and Akalo, in Apac district. The Amon-maka bridge bordering the counties of Otuke and Moroto will also be renovated. Otoa was flanked by the Lira district works secretary, Joseph Atepo, secretary for finance, Grace Geoffrey Ogang and the Chief Administrative Officer, Daniel Odwedo Ocheingh's. Atepo and the district engineer, Alfred Obong- Area said the project will be carried out jointly by the two engineering departments assisted by an NGO, Uganda Oil Seed Processors Association (UOSPA). It will be funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under 480 programme. USAID funds many developmental projects in the country. Ends
