The Buganda Lukiiko on Thursday unanimously passed a resolution commending President Yoweri Museveni for the sh1b offer for the construction of Twekobe, Kabaka Mutebi's official residence.
The Lukiiko also hailed Museveni for the devotion he exhibited in returning all the kingdoms assets and in reviewing the Constitution to accommodate Buganda's demands particularly federo.
The Lukiiko was chaired by the speaker, Sheikh Ali Kulumba and addressed by Katikkiro Joseph Ssemwogerere and Peter Muliira, the minister in charge of historical sites.
Ssemwogerere gave a detailed report on the developments in the kingdom since the last Lukiiko of November 6, 2000.
He said the presidential elections had divided many Ugandans and appealed to them to forget the past and jointly work to develop Buganda and Uganda.
Ssemwogerere hailed all the presidential candidates who contested and the voters.
"It showed that Ugandans are mature and can enjoy freedom of expression," Ssemwogerere said.
He received applause when he cited the achievements reached after meetings with Museveni and his ministers.
Ssemwogerere said Museveni gave sh100m for Twekobe and directed the Minister of Finance to include the sh900m in the next financial year.
He urged Baganda to engage in the coming parliamentary elections.
