By Hamis Kaheru THE Family of the late Johnson Baronda, the man who was shot dead in Rukungiri town after Col. Kizza Besigye addressed a rally there in March, is demanding sh650m from the Government as compensation. The family's lawyers, Makeera and Company Advocates, wrote to the Attorney General on April 9 threatening court action if the money is not paid within 45 days. "Take notice that unless sh650m is paid within 45 days from the date thereof our clients intend to institute a suit in the High Court against you claiming the above amount and costs of the suit," reads the notice of intent to sue. The notice said that Baronda was shot dead on March 3 by Presidential Protection Unit (PPU) on his way from a shop near Classic Bar, where he had gone after Besigye's campaign rally. President Yoweri Museveni said on Saturday that Police killed Baronda. The deceased left behind a pregnant wife, Dafuroza Baronda and eight other people. Ends
