A JOINT symposium of philosophy students from Makerere and Uganda Christian Universities has condemned homosexuality, which they said is taking root in the country.
Milton Olupot reports that the symposium which sat at the Uganda Christian University (UCU) Mukono at the weekend expressed concern that the young generation was in danger of embracing homosexuality and prostitution especially when religious leaders sympathise with such acts.
The Dean of the UCU Faculty of Social Sciences, the Rev. Dr. Christopher Byaruhanga, while opening the symposium, said society's moral fibre was in danger. He said the Church and leaders should redirect their efforts to address the problem.
The symposium, under the theme 'Ethics and Society' also discussed leadership in Africa, human rights, ethics, good governance, and the merits and demerits of globalisation.
