TANZANIA has become the fifth foreign entry in the inaugural Eastern African youth championships scheduled for June 8 and 9 at Mandela Stadium,Namboole.
Uganda Amateur Athletics Federation (UAAF) secretary Patrick Okanya said the Tanzanians will field a team of 16 athletes.
Athletics giants Kenya will also be represented by 16 in the competition that has also received entries from Eritrea, Djibouti and Ethiopia.
Uganda, fielding a team of 60 athletes, will have its final trial tomorrow at Kyambogo.
A trial was staged last weekend at the same venue for a similar purpose but was not conclusive because of absence of athletes from leading athletics districts Kapchorwa and Lira.
A refresher course for officials is meanwhile set for Sunday at Lugogo.
