By Nathan Etengu The vice-President, Dr. Speciosa Wandira Kazibwe, has refuted rumours that she embezzled funds for the youth and women micro-credit scheme for Kigulu south constituency. Kazibwe, who is seeking re-election as the area Member of Parliament, said the rumour was spread by her opponents. She said she might take legal action against the peddlers of the rumour if they do not stop. Kazibwe, who was recently addressing a campaign rally at Mawagala Primary School in Bulamagi sub-county, said she was a woman of high repute whose name should not be tarnished. She was given a 200-metre long "red carpet" of white polythene bags by the women who welcomed her to the area. "I am the President of the women forum in the whole of Africa and I am known worldwide. Why should someone come to Kigulu South and tarnish my name, calling me a thief?" Kazibwe asked. She told her opponents that she was not only a parliamentary candidate but was still the incumbent area MP and the Vice-President of Uganda. "Ridiculing me is tantamount to ridiculing the institution of the presidency," Kazibwe said.
