By J. Maseruka THE Kattikiro of Buganda, Joseph Ssemwogerere, has assured the Baganda that Kabaka Ronald Mutebi and the Nnabagereka, Sylvia Nagginda, are in excellent condition and the Nnabagereka will deliver any time from now. Speaking to The New Vision yesterday after his return from London and USA on Sunday night, Ssemwogerere said he met the royal couple before returning to Uganda and they were "in excellent condition and in high spirits." He added, "Since I am in touch with the royal couple, I will break the good news as soon as I get it." Ssemwogerere said all the necessary preparations for the baby's delivery had been made. He said the Buganda traditional midwife currently in London, Nnabikande Nassazza Regina Namaganda, was well equipped with the traditional herbs (ekyogero) in which the baby must be first bathed to fulfil the Ganda tradition. Other rituals, according to Baganda monarchists, will be performed at home by the Kabaka. The Nnabagereka has been booked into the Great Portland Hospital in London. Ssemwogerere, acco-mpanied by his personal secretary, Mr. John Bugembe, was received on arrival at Entebbe by his wife Laetitia, the first deputy chairman of the Buganda executive, Godfrey Kaaya Kavuma, the permanent secretary, Joseph Kisuule and the kingdom spokesman, Tucker Lwanga. Ssemwogerere said the Royal Economic and Cultural Summit in Texas America, was a success and many people and organisations in the diaspora expressed willingness to cooperate and fund Buganda kingdom programmes. While in UK, Ssemwogerere received a 2,020 pound sterling cheque from the head of the Kabaka's representative in the UK, Nsambu Musisi. He said he would soon make arrangements for Mutebi's eighth coronation anniversary scheduled for July at Gulu sazza headquarters in Mukono. Ends
