St Maria School Goretti Dormitory Gutted

By Eva Nabagesera FIRE gutted a boys’ dormitory at St. Maria Goretti Senior Secondary School, Katende on Tuesday night, destroying property worth about sh50m, the school authorities have said. The deputy headmaster, Geoffrey Emmanuel Katalemwa, said the fire broke out at about 8:00pm during prep time. The 10-year-old building was housing 196 S.2, S.3 and S.4 students. He said fire brigade from Kampala took 30 minutes to get to the scene and another 30 to put out the fire. The dormitory were still collapsing by yesterday. Ends
