By Kalungi Kabuye The Uganda national fifteens rugby team is ready to take on their Zambian counterparts in a World Cup qualifying match tomorrow. “The players are fit and are ready to play ,” an official said during a training session yesterday. “We just have to work on strategy and fine-tune our game plan. But come Saturday the boys are ready and determined to win their first World Cup encounter.” The 22-man squad has been training for the past four weeks, and in residential for a week. The team’s head coach is ex-Kenyan international Tolbert Onyango. Frank Ochieng is handling the forwards and Yayiro Kasasa the backs. The officials were confident of Uganda’s chances of beating the Zambians who just need a win here to qualify for the second round. Uganda has to win this game and then beat Cameroon in two weeks time to advance. Zambia beat Cameroon 25-24 two weeks ago at home. The Ugandan team is berthed at the Red Chillies guest-house in Bugolobi, and has been undergoing a regimen of training to make the players ready for the game. They do aerobics at the BMK Gym in the mornings, and then go to Kyadondo for rugby training in the afternoon. Ends
