Vienna College Namugongo, an international school, has reshuffled its administration, dropping two Austrian expatriates.
Former managing director Rudolf Gabriel and Genold Lukwesk, who was the technical manager, were laid off in May.
Brig. Gen. H.H. Mozer is now the chairman of the board, with John Muyingo as the vice-chairman.
The two are the proprietors of the US$2.5m investment. Muyingo, who is also the Mengo minister for education and sports, said the reshuffle was in good faith and for the betterment of the school.
He said the position of managing director was scrapped.
He said Gabriel was terminated for insurbodination and financial matters. “It was a decision taken by all board members,†Muyingo stated.
Lukwesk’s services were terminated after he became redundant after completing the construction of the school campus.
The two-year-old school has won the investor of the Year Award and has about 600 students, the majority of whom are from abroad.
The school will soon embark on an exchange programme with European schools.
