Mbarara District Chairman, Mr. Fred Ibabaza Kamugira, has said the Government is to construct a council office block worth sh3.5b this financial year, reports Ebenezer Bufubyeka. “This money will be raised from local revenue and donor funds. My office has at long last secured a land title for the district headquarters,” he said. Kamugira said this on Wednesday during an interview with The New Vision at the Lake View Regency Hotel near Mbarara town. He said the building will be constructed at Kamukuzi, where the current offices of the district headquarters are located. Earlier on Monday during a council meeting held at Kamukuzi Council Hall, Kamugira told the council that the design for the council building had already been released. “That plan is here for the public and the council officials to scrutinise and advise us before we implement it,” Kamugira said.
