THE Social Science Research Council in New York, USA has set up four funding opportunities for individuals and teams capable of conducting first rate research on issues of Human security, conflict and peace.

By Vision Reporter THE Social Science Research Council in New York, USA has set up four funding opportunities for individuals and teams capable of conducting first rate research on issues of Human security, conflict and peace. The funding is under the Global Security and Cooperation (GSC) program, according to a release from the council’s headquarters in New York. The funding opportunities offered under the GSC program are, grants for research collaboration in conflict zones, research fellowships for professionals working in international affairs, postdoctoral training fellowships for junior scholars and dissertation fellowships. “The GSC particularly seeks to bridge the gap between the knowledge held by practitioners, human activists, humanitarian relief workers and development consultants, academics,” the release said. “The GSC program offers a number of fellowships and research grants to help enable these collaborations,” it further said. The GSC is particularly keen to increase the number of qualified applications from scholars and participants from Africa, Asia and Latin America.
