CECAFA targets Farah

By Leo Kabunga CECAFA is targeting CAF first vice president Farah Addo as its next president. CECAFA meets today in Kampala to elect its new leadership. Addo is already in town for the Confederation of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) senior challenge cup that kicks off on Saturday at Nakivubo and Mbale. CECAFA and FUFA will hold a joint press conference today at 10am at Nakulabye. Burundi FA vice president Nestor Ndamana has also showed interest in leading the region body. FUFA secretary Godfrey Kisekka yesterday said at a Nile Special Super league conference that most delegates arrive today ahead of the assembly. Kisekka said Uganda is not floating a candidate in the assembly. Kenya hosts the secretariat in Nairobi. Sudan without a team in the event has three officials in Kampala for the assembly. According to Kisekka, Somalia FA boss Addo is the most suitable candidate for CECAFA's top post because of his influence at CAF. Somalia and Djibouti national teams arrive today at 3.30 p.m. while Eritrea is expected tomorrow at 10am. Ends.
