Ndeeba evictions stopped

By Catherine Ntabadde KAMPALA district Land Board has suspended the processing of leases for three plots in Ndeeba due to an on going row between the tenants and the would-be leaseholders. The three plots are on block seven in Rubaga division. The tenants went to Rubaga South MP Ken Lukyamuzi and the division chairman, Justin Ssendikadiwa and complained about the eviction threats. The tenants said George Mitala, Sarah Buwembo and SBK Fashions, all operating in Ndeeba, wanted to evict them. Ssendikadiwa told The New Vision recently that when the would-be leaseholders applied for the leases, they evicted the tenants who formed an association to challenge them. He said he wrote to the district land board chairman, Mr. Kiyimba Kaggwa, asking him to suspend the processing of leases as investigations were still going on. Ends.
