FORMER Luwero district LC5 chairman, Hajji Abdul Nadduli has bounced back after trouncing the incumbent, Ronald Ndawula, who beat him in 2006.
Nadduli, who is also the district NRM chairman, garnered 40,780 votes to beat Ndawula who got 32,354 and stood as an independent, in a three man race whose results were released, yesterday morning.
The third contestant, Bwanika Bbaale of the Forum for Democratic Change party trailed.
Nadduli, who was the opinion poll favourite, led in 10 of the 13 sub-counties and town councils while Ndawula led in the other three sub-counties.
Ndawula, who won the 2006 elections following Nadduli’s disqualification, was accused by the electorate of awarding himself district tenders.
Ndawula contested as an independent during the 2006 elections but converted to the NRM in 2009 and fell out after the 2010 NRM party primaries.
