RATHER than being a perfectionist, Musaalo advises that one should be a hard worker. He says every star performer knows how to work hard and ‘cut corners’ at the same time.
However, he advises workers to focus on their goals as well as being honest with themselves on whether the goals require perfectionism.
He calls for patience and a light-hearted approach to life and work. “A lot of tolerance to what you perceive as incompetence is important because, unlike God, human beings have their limits.
No matter how you try, accept that you will make mistakes, and so will everyone else,†Musaalo counsels.
He says speaking naturally without censoring one’s thoughts and focusing on the significance of the message he or she is presenting, rather than the details of how you are presenting it, calms the nerves when one is presenting before others.
“When all these are done, you will begin to see yourself as a good communicator, which will help you improve in confidence and work experience.â€
He advises against one shying away from what makes him or her nervous. Get involved in the things that make you nervous to get experience, he says.
which will eventually insulate you from things that make you nervous. If you are afraid of failing, push yourself to try anyway. Remember, you do not need to let nerves control you.
