THE new Kapchorwa district chairman, Sam Cheptoris, has pledged to streamline the operations of civil servants in the district.
Cheptoris said this would restore public trust among the electorate.
He said laxity among civil servants coupled with corruption had eroded public trust.
Cheptoris said this had crippled sectors like the education department where the performance of candidates at final examinations in both primary and secondary level had deteriorated.
“I noticed that civil servants here report for work late and leave early. This is an issue of discipline that I will take on immediately,†he said.
Cheptoris said restoring public trust was the only reward he had for the electorate that entrusted him with the district leadership.
