UTODA continued with its giant killing run by beating KCC in the Uganda Super League yesterday.

David Isabirye struck 28 minutes into the Wankulukuku match as Abu Kigenyi’s side again proved that its stay in Uganda’s top league was no fluke.

Yesterday’s win followed similar ambushes by Utoda on Bunamwaya and Simba. Utoda’s casualties also include champions URA.

Angered KCC fans after the match attacked their coach Matia Lule claiming he did not do enough to secure a better result.

Utoda’s late surge helped it survive relegation. Gulu United and Fire Masters, who got off to an impressive start in the 14 team race last year, were not that lucky.

At Nakivubo, Bunamwaya, who had lost their previous match to Utoda, recovered to beat Victors courtesy of Luwaga Kizito and Tony Odur goals. Luwaga headed in an Odur cross in the 30th minute while Odur scored in the last minute off a long ball from his defence.

Victors had themselves to blame. They secured a penalty which Godfrey Ssentongo wasted. The league resumes next week after the Uganda versus Guinea Bissau Nations Cup match.
