BODY builder of the year Ivan Byekwaso will challenge the world’s best at the NAC International world body building championship due in Differdange, Luxembourg, on Saturday.
But Byekwaso was only able to confirm his participation after securing a last minute sh3.3m return air ticket from Jet Tours yesterday, after which he immediately flew.
Byekwaso, who had been invited together with five others, was the only one who secured sponsorship from the tour company whose boss, Rogers Ddungu also heads the Uganda Olympic Committee.
While handing over the ticket, Ddungu advised sportsmen to always plan their travel in advance to avoid gate crushing in other peoples’ programmes.
“Although body building is not an Olympic sport, it is our role as UOC to support all sports though this is just a personal contribution,†Ddungu, who urged the muscle man to put up a good show, explained.
Byekwaso who finished second behind Italian Helle Strubl in last year’s event in London is likely to face the same opposition in the Power Food J-M.B sponsored event.
