Team match-ups

If Kizito can shore up Cranes’ left side, like he has done over the years, it will shut Kenyan star winger Victor Mugabe’s options and reduce his chances of making a match-winning contribution.

If Kizito can shore up Cranes’ left side, like he has done over the years, it will shut Kenyan star winger Victor Mugabe’s options and reduce his chances of making a match-winning contribution.

The Serbia-based left-back is a really good player, strong when he has to defend and dangerous when he goes forward. He is one of the best left-backs Uganda has ever produced. He’s intelligent, his movement is clever and he is quick.

He passes the ball well and when he arrives up-field, he knows what he has to do.

Kizito often wants the ball and is always aware unlike Kenya’s Dennis Odhiambo.

DENNIS ODHIAMBO
(Kenya)
Odhiambo though has made significant progress since his move from South African second division side Tuks to Premiership club Thanda Royal Zulu. He will step in ahead of George Owino, who had a relatively good game against the Cranes in Nairobi last year. Although Owino worked well to contain a rampant Vincent Kayizzi, he executed that at the expense of his offensive instincts and in the few occasions he attacked, his crosses were horrible.

It’s why Odhiambo will be considered, even ahead of the more experienced John Njoroge.

That said Odhiambi is pacy, strong but careless.
