It is one thing emerging as Uganda’s leading vernacular TV station, and it is another going beyond borders, viewed by millions of other African audiences across the continent. Bukedde TV, which is owned by Vision Group, is set to go live on DStv, Africa’s largest digital satellite TV service.

To begin with, Vision Group today (Friday) signs a partnership deal with MultiChoice Africa, a South African company which operates DStv, at the Vision Group head office in Kampala.

Under the agreement, Bukedde TV will start airing on DStv and GOtv, marking a significant breakthrough in the existence of the Luganda TV station which hit the waves in 2009.

GOtv, another product of MultiChoice, is the newest pay TV service in Uganda, launched at the end of August this year.

Ugandan audiences outside Uganda will then have a chance to catch up with their favorite programmes like Agataliiko nfuufu, Byansi, Kuuma omubiri, Oluyimba lwo, Akasaale, to mention but a few.

The advancement will also offer the out-of-Uganda audiences an experience of local news, bulletins and suspense-filled soap operas, just as they were right in here in the country.
