No class promises to be as exhilarating as the MX 125cc at the MAU Motocross Challenge on Sunday at Busiika.

Kylan Wekesa cannot wait to show what he has got.

"He is really excited about the competition and 125cc and he is targeting to finish among the best," Kylan's father Amos told New Vision.

"He has been riding in the 125cc for less than six months and when you look the riders in that category, it is extremely competitive. Stav (Orland), Fortune
(Ssentamu), Wazir (Omar) and Waleed (Omar) are all good riders who have been riding since a young age".

Kylan, who has been on the motocross track for less than three years, will be riding a 2018 KTM pro bike model, one the father hopes will increase his chances of success.

"It is one of the few pro bikes in the country and it is the one he uses for racing even though he has a 2020 KTM model," Amos explained.

"The 2020 bike is for practise."

Kylan has started the year in fashion, scooping second place in the 125cc in Kenya's season-opening round two weeks ago. But the 14 year-old will have to be much better to replicate the result at Busiika.

Amos expectedly weighed in on the on-going breakaway from governing motorsport body FMU by the majority of Uganda motocross fraternity.

Amos, a key voice in Ugandan motocross explained, "I am all for the cause of independence but I am also for dialogue because if we go into the season with this controversy still in place it will not be good for the sport.

"So we must find a way to dialogue even if it means meeting the minister. But it is clear that motocross will achieve more if it separates and manages its own affairs".
