Rev. Byamugisha walks for charity

Rev Canon Byamugisha made stopovers to distribute leaflets and sensitise the Boda Boda riders and other onlookers on the dangers of HIV.

An HIV activist and retired Bishop Rev.Canon Gideon Byamugisha has walked a distance of 54km in a fundraising drive to build a vocational institute. 
 
Accompanied by his three daughters and staff from Friends of Gideon Foundation started a journey from Kitara in Entebbe at 8:00 am.

 

He said the purpose of the walk was to raise sh500m to build Nagawa House which will be used as a vocational institute to train the youth, primary seven dropouts and the less vulnerable in society.

The stopovers were at Savio Primary School, Kawuku, Namutanda, and Bwebaja. 
Other places include Kajansi, Freedom City, Najanakumbi, Kibuye, Nakivubo Market where the late Nagawa used to work. 
 

 

The walk was up to Katooke in Nansana Municipality.

"I appeal to every Ugandan to support our cause to help empower the youth through vocational training so that they can get employment," he said.
