Cricket Cranes turn on the style in Oman

Steve Tikolo wanted the Cricket Cranes to produce five wins at the Cricket World Cup Challenge League Group B in Oman, a feat they have completed without a farce after defeating Hong Kong earlier today.

They polished off a six wicket victory with 82 balls remaining to claim top place in the first round of the part qualifying series.

Arnold Otwani (66)* and Dinesh Nakrani 57* brought the Cranes home after they had lost Roger Mukasa (7), Shazad Ukani (4),  Ronak Patel (1) and Kenneth Waiswa 2 in the first 13 overs.

Otwani who opened along with Roger Mukasa was the most conservative of the pair as he faced 112 balls on the way to his 66 while Nakrani needed only 66 balls to get his 57 runs.

The win against Hong Kong was the perfect finish to a tournament that has seen the Cricket Cranes pull off many firsts the most important being the country's first win against Kenya.

They return to Kampala with five victories and will focus on preparing for the Kampala Tournament set for 2020.

 The country that will come out on top in all three rounds will qualify for a shot at the 2023 cricket World Cup in India.
