Uganda's women impressed at the FIBA Africa 3x3 tournament on day two as they defeated Nigeria and Kenya in fine fashion.

They came out of the blocks well against Nigeria and they controlled the match with verve as they took an 18-15. Rita Imanishimwe showed her class in the shortened version of the game as her shooting went up a notch against the better teams. She was the most reliable player for team Uganda on occasions where the pressure was on.

The same happened against Kenya were they relied not only on their shooting but also their physicality as they put the neighbours to the sword in the 13-11 victory.

The men also impressed as they outclassed Nigeria 15-14 on day one, matches will resume today with Uganda set to face favourites Egypt in the women's semi-final. Nigeria with battle Mali for a place in the women's final.
