Young deejays to showcase at 2019 Mixtape Party

As many youngsters aspire to take on careers as deejays, the celebrated deejays think it is wise to give platform to the youngsters.

KAMPALA - The sixth edition of the annual Uganda Waragi Mixtape Party will be about discovering young talents in the deejaying industry.

Headliners and hosts, deejaying duo, Slick Stuart and Roja, said the event slated for Friday night at UMA Multipurpose Hall will give a platform to various young talented deejays.

Globally, deejaying is a major force in the entertainment/ music industry. Today, deejays are artistes of their own right and hold their shows. The industry has grown both in the capital, human resource, and capacity.

Some of the young deejays to showcase on the night, include, DJ meek, Nash, Ricky, and El Nicho.

"The edition is not entirely about us. We are also giving a platform to younger DJs to showcase their talent because even us, somewhere we were raised by older and experienced DJs," Slick Stuart said at a press conference on Tuesday.

The deejays who also double as music producers have stayed on top of charts, with their newest releases Sunday featuring Allan Toniks and More of This featuring Rema.

The event will be a blend of music and deejay mixes, staging various acts, including Winnie Nwagi, Bebe Cool, Fefe Busi, DJ Dash, Selector Jay, Crysto Panda, and Mercy Pro.
