(Al-Nasr beat Proline 4-2 on aggregate to progress)

Not the result Proline wanted today but that's football for you. Win some, lose some. Hard luck lads. Congratulations to Al-Nasr Benghazi for doing what they needed to do.

For me here, that's all for today. All the best to KCCA.

6:15pm  |   ELSEWHERE . . .

(Al-Nasr beat Proline 4-2 on aggregate to progress)

There has been plenty of similar action in other parts of the continent, and for now, we know some of the teams that have moved on to the group stage - and of course, those that are out of the competition.

Horoya (Guinea) beat Bandari (Kenya) 5-2 on aggregate.

El Masry (Egypt) eased 6-0 on aggregate past Cote d'Or (Seychelles).

Nouadhibou (Mauritania) edged out Triangle (Zimbabwe) 4-3 on aggregate.

Enyimba (Nigeria) made easy work of TS Galaxy (S.Africa) with a 4-1 aggregate scoreline.

Zanaco (Zambia) bulldozed Cano Sport (Equatorial Guinea) with a massive 8-2 aggregate result.

Other games are under way.

Uganda's remaining representative in the competition, KCCA FC, will be in action at 10:45pm against Paradou.

Game over for Proline? Time is not their best ally at the moment.

84 min  |   CLOSE! - Proline

(Proline 0 Al-Nasr 2)

Substitute Joshua Okiror is involved, and so is Bright Anukani. The visitors are in trouble six minutes before time.

But the visitors let out a huge sigh of relief as Proline's effort rolls off the target, out of play.

80 min  |   TEN MINUTES TO GO

(Proline 0 Al-Nasr 2)

Time is running out for the home side. They are trailing 2-4 on aggregate.

What do they have in their reserve tanks? They need to slap on those afterburners real quick. In fact, as soon as NOW!

The moment when Fakroun Salahaldeen administered some relief to this injured teammate. Referee  Elsiddig Mohamed Eltreefe was drawn in to scrutinise the situation.

The temperatures are sweltering. The action equally intense.

Here is how the Al-Nasr man ended up writhing in pain on the floor . . .

And  he needed to be stretchered off the pitch for extended medical attention.

67 min  |   Proline staring at exit door

(Proline 0 Al-Nasr 2)

Can Matia Lule's side launch another comeback?

They need a massive one this time - and they have only 23 minutes to score at least two goals to stay in the contest.

62 min  |   GOAL! - Al-Nasr

(Proline 0 Al-Nasr 2)

It has just got more difficult for Proline. Al-Nasr have doubled their lead, with Ibrahiem Albedwi Osama the man on target.

The Libyan side are leading 4-2 on aggregate.

(Proline 0 Al-Nasr 1)

Earlier, the hosts made reforms, slapping on Allan Egaku and Joshua Okiror and taking off Arnold Sserunjogi and Sam Kintu.

In the first half, we saw Sserunjogi's fierce header crash against the bar to deny the home side.

53 min  |   GREAT SAVE!

(Proline 0 Al-Nasr 1)

Almost the equaliser they needed, Proline!

Al-Nasr goalkeeper Alriaydh Abdelrhman is drawn into early second half action as he must clear the danger inside his box. Bright Anukani was heavily involved there.

50 min  |   Bright start for Proline

(Proline 0 Al-Nasr 1)

A bright start for the home side. They needed to. They are trailing.

Wonder what Matia Lule told his boys in the dressing room.

Perhaps something along this line: "Guys, we can't let this slip out of our grasp!"

Time for some half time pep talk.

(Proline 0 Al-Nasr 1)

That was close!

Proline again come close to finding the equaliser but are denied by the post as well as Al-Nasr goalkeeper Alriaydh Abdelrhman's brilliance. Even the young fans in the stands can't believe how that did not go in the back of the net.

The hosts are huffing and puffing.

15 min  |   KCCA eyeing group stage

(Proline 0 Al-Nasr 1)

Meanwhile, Uganda Premier League defending champions KCCA FC are also in CAF Confederation Cup contention and will be in action later this evening.

In the first leg on Sunday, Mike Mutebi's side hosted Algerian side Paradou AC, but things did not go quite as planned in the first of two legs of the playoff round. The winner over the two-legged tie will move on to the group stage, but KCCA did not do themselves any favours when they failed to capitalise on home advantage in a goalless affair at the StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.

The return leg will be played tonight in Algiers. Can the Kasasiro Boys recover?

10 min

(Proline 0 Al-Nasr 1)

The visitors have burst out of the blocks with blistering speed and that early goal will have done well to inject the much-needed belief they so desired here in Kampala.

Coach Matia Lule's side need to respond swiftly.

Bright Anukani, who scored the second equaliser in Alexandria, is looking bright, trying to inject pace into his side.

3:25pm  |   'One of my dreams'

Proline vs Al-Nasr (4:00pm)

In the buildup to today's clash, Proline FC player Joshua Okiror has shared his thoughts on what it means playing continental club football.

"This is a great opportunity for me and the team. Playing at the continent has been one of my dreams ever since I joined Proline. This is the opportunity for me and the team to move to greater heights. One of my biggest motivations has been God from day one and our togetherness as a team. We fight as a family. You can't afford to fail your family, which is Proline."

3:18pm  |   What both sides need to advance

Proline vs Al-Nasr (4:00pm)

The hosts, Proline, are hoping to raise their profile even higher by making club history with progression to the group stage.

It is their first appearance on the continent and going as far as the group stage on the first time of asking will be a huge accomplishment.

To advance, the Ugandan side will need a scoreless or 1-1 draw to book a historic place in the next phase of the tournament. Their opposition, Al Nasr, know they must win or pick a draw of more than three goals to go through.

But if we happen to see another two-all draw in today's game, the decider will be a penalty shootout.

3:15pm  |   Thrilling encounter

Proline vs Al-Nasr (4:00pm)

One of the two sides will progress to the group stage of the competition.

To know who it will be, we shall have to deal with the little matter of 90 minutes of action involving  22 men hitting about a sphere on the artificial surface of Lugogo.

3:11pm  |   How Proline got here - Part 2

Proline vs Al-Nasr (4:00pm)

After dealing with Masters Security Services and AS Kigali, the Uganda Cup defending champions moved on to face Libyan opposition in the play-off round. Here, the winner over two legs moves on to the group stage.

Proline's quest for a group stage ticket started off last Sunday miles away from the comfort of home.

They were playing against Libyan side Al-Nasr, who are based in Benghazi. But for security reasons, the tie was played in neighbouring Egypt in the city of Alexandria.

Proline did well, twice coming from behind to pick up a point and two vital away goals in a 2-2 affair.

Moataz Al-Mehdi put the hosts in front after 13 minutes, before Mustafa Mujuzi (aka Minister of Defence) lashed in the equaliser two minutes before the break. Al-Nasr regained their lead in the 68th minute from the penalty spot through Khalid Madji after Richard Ajuna handled the ball inside the box, but Bright Anukani ensured that the loot was shared 12 minutes to the end of the game.
