Beaten Proline exit CAF Confederation Cup

It is the end of the road for Ugandan side Proline FC, who are beaten 4-2 on aggregate by Libyan side Al-Nasr Benghazi in the CAF Confederation Cup play-off round.

There has been plenty of similar action in other parts of the continent, and for now, we know some of the teams that have moved on to the group stage - and of course, those that are out of the competition.
Horoya (Guinea) beat Bandari (Kenya) 5-2 on aggregate.
El Masry (Egypt) eased 6-0 on aggregate past Cote d'Or (Seychelles).
Nouadhibou (Mauritania) edged out Triangle (Zimbabwe) 4-3 on aggregate.
Enyimba (Nigeria) made easy work of TS Galaxy (S.Africa) with a 4-1 aggregate scoreline.
Zanaco (Zambia) bulldozed Cano Sport (Equatorial Guinea) with a massive 8-2 aggregate result.
Other games are under way.
Uganda's remaining representative in the competition, KCCA FC, will be in action at 10:45pm against Paradou.

Meanwhile, Uganda Premier League defending champions KCCA FC are also in CAF Confederation Cup contention and will be in action later this evening.
In the first leg on Sunday, Mike Mutebi's side hosted Algerian side Paradou AC, but things did not go quite as planned in the first of two legs of the playoff round. The winner over the two-legged tie will move on to the group stage, but KCCA did not do themselves any favours when they failed to capitalise on home advantage in a goalless affair at the StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.
The return leg will be played tonight in Algiers. Can the Kasasiro Boys recover?

It is their first appearance on the continent and going as far as the group stage on the first time of asking will be a huge accomplishment.
To advance, the Ugandan side will need a scoreless or 1-1 draw to book a historic place in the next phase of the tournament. Their opposition, Al Nasr, know they must win or pick a draw of more than three goals to go through.
But if we happen to see another two-all draw in today's game, the decider will be a penalty shootout.

After dealing with Masters Security Services and AS Kigali, the Uganda Cup defending champions moved on to face Libyan opposition in the play-off round. Here, the winner over two legs moves on to the group stage.
Proline's quest for a group stage ticket started off last Sunday miles away from the comfort of home.
They were playing against Libyan side Al-Nasr, who are based in Benghazi. But for security reasons, the tie was played in neighbouring Egypt in the city of Alexandria.
Proline did well, twice coming from behind to pick up a point and two vital away goals in a 2-2 affair.
Moataz Al-Mehdi put the hosts in front after 13 minutes, before Mustafa Mujuzi (aka Minister of Defence) lashed in the equaliser two minutes before the break. Al-Nasr regained their lead in the 68th minute from the penalty spot through Khalid Madji after Richard Ajuna handled the ball inside the box, but Bright Anukani ensured that the loot was shared 12 minutes to the end of the game.
